2 good days and 1 not so good day!
Well, I had a not so great food day yesterday. More about that in a minute. First I have to play catch up on my Friday and Saturday since I haven't been able to get online during the weekends due to TWO broken down laptops! I'm thinking I might start bringing my office laptop home just to blog over the weekends.
Friday (and all of last week really) was HECTIC at work! Had alot of running around to do, the boss went out of town and to top it off, just as I was hitting the bank on my way home Friday, my brother was broke down in the company van at the entrance to the shopping center at 4:00! So, we had to sit and wait for a tow truck, then I had to give him a ride and it was around 5:00 before I got home on Friday. The old me would've used that as an opportunity to say SCREW IT and order a pizza for dinner but I didn't. I called hubby and asked him to go by the store on the way home and I cooked a healthy dinner.
Now, I was scambling to leave the house this morning and forgot my journal so I'm going off memory for the weekend eating. Friday's breakfast was likely either an egg, english muffin and turkey sausage or the muffin/sausage without the egg..can't remember. Fridays lunch was Smart Ones mini veggie pizzas (4 mini pizzas to a serving) which are AWESOME! Fridays dinner was homemade stirfry with steak strips, garlic, onion, broccoli and mushrooms over brown rice. And it was SO yummy!
Saturday hubby and I did some shopping for the baby shower I was co-hosting on Sunday. Before we left the house I had breakfast. I believe it was an english muffin and piece of turkey sausage..can you believe I can barely remember what I ate 2 days ago? We went to Sam's club and hubby (who had not eaten his breakfast before we left..lol) got a slice of pizza and was kind enough to sit in the cafe area and eat it while I shopped so I wouldn't have to be around it. When we got home I had a Chicken Grillers patty on a wheat bun with bbq sauce and some veggies out of the veggie tray I had bought with my own homemade dip of powdered Ranch dip and fat free sour cream. For dinner, I took the leftover stirfry and separated the broccoli from it, ate the brocolli on its own and put the steak, onions and mushrooms on tortillas with fat free sour cream and salsa for fajitas..it was really good. I believe I had a chocolate pudding before bed as well.
So, that brings us to yesterday where it all went downhill. I had already been worried about how I would eat at the shower but I had decided I would eat lite and have a nice dinner when I got home. I don't think I did THAT bad at the shower. I had a small portion of pasta salad, some veggies and dip, 2 meatballs and 1 chicken wing. I bypassed the pigs in a blanket, taco dip and sub sandwiches. When it came time to cut the cake, I told my cousin to cut just a SMALL slice, smaller than a small slice. It amount to being about 2 bites, or the equivalent of maybe 1/4-1/6 of a small piece. Then I got home and told hubby to forget the bbq chicken I had asked for that morning because I was full from the shower. Well, then here comes the downhill part. Hubby decided he was craving hamburgers on the grill. Hamburgers are my FAVORITE. But, I told him I didn't want any. THEN I started thinking how good it sounded so I changed my mind. So, I ended up eating some more veggies and dip from the veggie tray, 1 more chicken wing, a SMALL piece of smoked sausage and a hamburger. I told you it went downhill! But I'm not going to sweat it for several reasons.
1- I had done really well the rest of the weekend and still think I did well at the shower
2-If I hadn't allowed myself that hamburger, I would have obsessed about it and ended up at McDonald's today.
So, although I know I made some bad choices yesterday, I'm back on track today. I even went by the grocery store this morning to get fixings for a good, healthy dinner tonight. By the way, I got many compliments on my weight loss from family members at the shower yesterday. It felt really good and my Aunt even called me this morning to ask for some "diet advice." Maybe her and I can motivate each other to do well.
I'm off for now..its lunch time. Have a great day, do something good for you.
I'll be back to doing something good for me!
Stacy
It sounds to me like you did just fine over the wknd. You showed excellent restraint at the shower and also by avoiding the pizza at Sam's Club. And a burger grilled at home is a much better choice than a burger from McD's...so yay for you! :)
